When purchasing a new down duvet, you might wonder where the feathers come from. And while many products don’t provide an answer you’d like, under DOUXE down you can sleep with peace of mind. After all, we source our feathers in a fully responsible way.

Fresh from our own source

Certified feathers: how does that work? Happy to explain. Before the feathers end up on your bed, they have already travelled quite a distance. To begin with, DOUXE down comes from our factory in Austria. Thanks to the favourable location of this state-of-the-art factory, the down and small feathers are washed with fresh water from our own spring. An ingenious washing system also ensures that the water is responsibly purified. 

Next, all DOUXE featherbeds, duvets and pillows are handcrafted by expert seamstresses. The products therefore have a very high level of finish, which no machine in the world can match. The result? Supple down featherbeds, duvets and pillows of luxurious hotel quality, filled with 100% pure goose down. 

European quality marks

DOUXE attaches great importance to this way of producing, in which the welfare of our customers, producers and animals is paramount. That is why our products carry European quality marks that guarantee that the down and feathers have been obtained in an animal-friendly way. 

Zero tolerance

That makes for a much more restful sleep, especially when you know that down is regularly obtained by plucking animals alive, and that those animals are often force-fed as well. 

In this respect we have a zero-tolerance policy: animal welfare and transparency about the supply chain come first. All DOUXE products are therefore certified with the Downpass Certificate, which guarantees that the feathers have been obtained responsibly. All products also receive a unique control number with which this origin can be checked and traced. 

Responsible production with attention for people, animals and the environment: that is what we stand for at DOUXE Hotel Luxury. As little waste as possible is created during production, and where possible we recycle the residual materials. Together we thus ensure a pleasant and cleaner world - and a good night’s sleep, of course.
