What Is a Box Spring?

What exactly is a box spring? Everyone knows the term and recognises the look, but what makes it so special? Box springs are often used in hotels, but these days many people also have their own box spring in the bedroom at home. The bed is named after the base, the "box".

Adapt Everything to Your Own Style, from Legs to a Headboard

Because you can put a box spring together yourself, you can adapt it completely to your personal taste. Choose a colour that suits you and your bedroom perfectly, or a fabric that makes you really happy. You also have a choice of various accessories. Select different types of legs or add a beautiful matching headboard to your box spring. A tall headboard gives your box spring a luxurious look, so that you can climb into bed with a royal feeling.

Hotel-Quality Mattresses

Sleeping like in a luxury hotel? Then a hotel-quality mattress is the solution. At DOUXE we have chosen pocket spring mattresses as the core of our mattress collection. These mattresses are available with different top layers of cold foam or latex, for even more refined lying comfort.

Pocket Spring Mattresses

A pocket spring mattress is firm and resilient, thanks to the hollow cores of metal springs. This type of mattress ventilates better than, for example, a foam mattress and retains less moisture. We offer five different types of pocket spring mattresses, in different heights, within three luxury collections. This allows you to choose a mattress that suits your sleeping position and personal preferences.

Our pocket spring mattresses have top layers of cold foam, Pantera® comfort foam or Elivea comfort padding. This creates very refined and exclusive lying comfort, comparable to that of a five-star hotel.

What Makes Hotel Mattresses Unique?

The answer is simple: our mattresses are designed for a long life and offer you a perfect combination of comfort, luxury and sleeping pleasure. The placement of the springs provides personalised pressure distribution, while the top layers of cold foam, comfort foam and latex mould perfectly to your body. The result? A soft, noticeable top layer and a dream of a mattress. In short, with us you will find hotel-quality mattresses for a perfect night’s sleep in your own bedroom.

Differences in Firmness

A soft mattress is ideal for back sleepers and people looking for the real hotel experience. In a soft mattress you can sink in nice and deep. Are you a back, stomach or side sleeper? Then a medium mattress is suitable for you. These mattresses are neither too firm nor too soft. Are you a stomach sleeper and do you carry a little more body weight? Then a firm mattress may be the best choice for you. This type of mattress offers enough support, so that you do not sink in too far and can sleep comfortably.
